Parks Marina, Inc
Established in 1983, Parks Marina has grown far beyond its humble beginnings. What started as a small fishing boat sales and repair operation on the shores of East Lake Okoboji has steadily evolved into a thriving, diversified business with three locations serving the region. Today, Parks Marina offers a wide range of services, including full service marinas, well stocked retail stores, and numerous recreational amenities. From launching boats and providing expert marine support to hosting scenic cruises on the lake, the marina has become a central hub for both locals and visitors. Through decades of growth and dedication to customer experience, Parks Marina has established itself as a beloved destination and a cornerstone of lake life on East Lake Okoboji.
Parks Marina Inc. required a solution capable of performing reliably in a wide range of harsh environmental conditions. The material needed to withstand extreme temperature fluctuations, including prolonged periods when the lake is frozen solid during winter months, without cracking, warping, or degrading. At the same time, it was essential that the solution support personnel safety during daily operations, particularly in high-traffic launch areas. A durable, non-slip surface was critical to reduce hazards caused by moisture and algae build-up when launching and retrieving boats. Ultimately, the goal was to implement a long lasting, dependable solution that enhanced safety, maintained performance year round, and supported the demanding operational needs of a busy marina.
A total of 140 feet of C40 Trackway® was delivered to the site in a convenient flat-packed format, allowing for efficient transportation and handling prior to installation. With an individual width of 13.8 feet per section, the panels were assembled on location to create a substantially wider boat ramp measuring 27.6 feet across and 70 feet in length. Once the ramp was properly positioned, it was firmly anchored into the existing concrete using heavy-duty anchor stakes, ensuring a secure and permanent installation. This method provided exceptional structural stability while also enhancing safety for both personnel and equipment. The finished ramp now offers a durable, reliable surface designed to support consistent use while maintaining traction and performance in demanding marina conditions.
