Trackway® Defence
Aircraft Landing Mat
The Aircraft Landing Mat system allows for the rapid construction of temporary runways and expeditionary airfields in locations where the installation of permanent infrastructure is impractical or time-restrictive.
This modular aluminium panel system was originally engineered for the UK Royal Engineers as a deployable alternative to conventional runway surfaces. The Aircraft Landing Mat provides a high-performance solution to overcome the limitations of gravel and dirt runways, offering enhanced stability, durability, and load-bearing capacity in austere and environmentally challenging conditions.

From standardised configurations to fully bespoke solutions, each Aircraft Landing Mat Kit is adaptable to meet the operational requirements of any aircraft type, ensuring optimal utilisation of available airfield infrastructure.
The NATO-compatible palletised system is engineered for rapid deployment, supporting both short-duration use and extended semi-permanent installations. This makes our solution a critical asset for expeditionary airfield construction, contingency planning, and runway capacity expansion.
Deployment options
The Aircraft Landing Kit Trackway® panels are designed for rapid, manual deployment and recovery, allowing trained personnel to establish and remove aircraft landing surfaces efficiently without the need for specialist machinery or plant. The modular panel system enables the landing area to be configured to a defined footprint appropriate to aircraft type, loading requirements, and operational constraints. This approach supports flexible deployment, reduced logistical burden, and rapid reconfiguration in temporary or expeditionary operating environments.
